The Grand Theft Auto IV patch is nothing revolutionary. It is your everyday game patch that brings some small, yet notable, changes to the PC version of this highly-popular game’s 4th installment. To start off, it does away with a number of bugs that PC users experienced during GTA IV gameplay.
new version v1.2.0.43 is not as good as Rockstar says. While it removed dependencies from GFWL, also many tracks for different radio stations have been removed and most mods, designed for old game versions, stopped working. For that reason I didn’t remove links to my older repack.
You may experience the game slowing down a bit when you first run this patch, but as the gameplay progresses, you will start to notice slight improvement as the graphic download easily and the game runs smoothly. The best part is that that the patch is official, and it’s free. And while you are not missing out anything in the GTA universe without it, you may still find it beneficial if you are a regular player.
How to Download & Install Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition
- Click the Download button below and you should be redirected to Download Link.
- Wait 5 seconds and click on the blue ‘download now’ button. Now let the download begin and wait for it to finish.
- Once Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition is done downloading, right-click the .zip file and click on “Extract to GTA.IV.Complete.Edition.zip” (To do this you must have 7-Zip, which you can get here).
- Double click inside the Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition folder and run the exe application.

For fixing the broken ingame-mirrors add “-forcehighqualitymirrors” to commandline.txt for the Non-Steam version. Please use draw distance 21 or 42 and detail distance 80, because the game was developed with these values which leads to less z-fighting.
